Diversity Walls Launch with Styna

The Wall Station have partnered with Hunter Multicultural Communities (HMC) to roll out a regional mural project called ‘Diversity Walls”. The project is all about using public art to create a positive environment for multiculturalism and engaging young people in a vibrant way with the themes of Diversity, Harmony and Resilience.

The Diversity Walls program will feature 6 walls and engage hundreds of young people in art workshops and mural painting days throughout the Greater Hunter Valley region.

At the Launch of the Diversity Walls project, Sydney street artist Styna (Christina Huynh) worked with high school students from Callaghan Campus in Waratah to install a 5 metre long mural at Hunter Multicultural Communities hall.

Students were asked to think about their own experiences with multiculturalism and diversity during the mural painting sessions and art workshops.

Local media The Newcastle Herald and Newcastle Weekly and special guest CEO of Multicultural NSW Joseph La Posta attended the Launch.
