Introducing the incredible Styna!
Christina Huynh is an emerging artist based in Western Sydney who paints under the artist name ‘Styna’. Her work is inspired by travels to faraway places, storytelling and heritage. Her illustrative style mixes traditional mediums of watercolour, ink and pen to aerosol and acrylic. She works across a range of creative practices to explore murals, illustration, typography and book making.
The Wall Station has engaged Styna to install two of her gorgeous murals in Canley Vale High School and at Lost n Books at Fairfield in Western Sydney as part of our Master The Walls Program.
The Master The Walls Program is a school mural program for low socio economic high schools who could not otherwise afford to have a street artist visit the school. The Program has been funded by The Matana Foundation for Young People.
Utilising some of Australia’s most popular professional street artists, the Master The Walls Program teaches mural painting and shares vocational knowledge about the creative profession of mural painting. In addition to learning mural painting skills, students will gain an understanding of the day-to-day business of full time professional muralist and how the artist began their career. Plus two lucky students are selected by their school to undertake a work experience wall with the Artist in the local community.
