Urban beautification

Supported by City of Newcastle’s Special Business Rate Grant and the Hamilton Business Improvement Association, our Beautiful Beaumont Doors initiative successfully delivered eleven murals on vandalised doorways and shop fronts.

Pubilc art has been proven to help deter vandalism and graffiti in urban areas, to activate spaces and make them feel safer. Working with local artists, we curated and selected artists whose style would work to elevate and support each unique business brand.

Artist’s were given creative briefs and in turn provided a design sketch to the business owner prior to the mural painting day. The murals were installed on Saturday 20 May and 25 November 2023 with artists painting all the way down the main street of the shopping precinct.
