Digital Marketing Position

4 months - 8 to 12 hours a week (Freelance / Part-time)

ABOUT US
The Wall Station is a public art agency that works to deliver culturally important street art festivals, exhibitions, activations and projects. Based in Newcastle, we work on projects right around the country. We curate, develop and manage projects that understand, reflect and support the communities that we work with.

We are advocates for artists from diverse backgrounds and seek to expand our work in this area. This position will work to develop The Wall Station brand and to promote our three key programs:

  • Small Walls - a graffiti prevention program that beautifies business shop fronts with murals.

  • Little Festival - small scale and miniature street art festival in Newcastle.

  • The Stencil Art Prize book - CUT: 10 Years of the Stencil Art Prize.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Highly confident and enthusiastic about all things branding, design and digital.

  • Strong writer.

  • Can think creatively.

  • Visual flair – an intuitive ability to align images with branding and make them stand out from the crowd.

  • An interest in the arts and willingness to learn more about the industry.

  • Ability to juggle many projects at once.

  • Can deliver work on time and on deadline.

  • Can work independently and collaboratively.

  • This position is well suited to an emerging creative looking to make their mark on the arts industry, parents returning to work after time out of the industry or individuals who are passionate about all things art.

EXPERIENCE

  • Design or Marketing qualifications or 1- 2 years employment. Would also suit a 3rd year student.

  • Prior experience working with arts or cultural events/organisations is a bonus.

  • Proven ability to create well written and grammatically correct digital copy.

THE POSITION

  • 8 - 12 hours a week with a degree of flexibility.

  • Can be a mix of remote/in person.

  • Our offices are located in Newcastle’s CBD. Unfortunately our office is not wheelchair accessible.

  • 4 month contract, with opportunity to expand on this.
